Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating a Sieve account or using the service at sievecv.com, you agree to these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company.

2. The service

Sieve provides AI-assisted tools to evaluate candidate CVs against job descriptions, generate interview questions, send screening emails, and manage hiring workflows. Output is AI-generated and intended to support, not replace, human hiring decisions.

3. Human oversight

You agree that a qualified human will review AI-generated outputs before taking any action that materially affects a candidate (interview, progression, rejection, offer). You will not use Sieve to make solely automated hiring decisions.

4. Your responsibilities

• Obtain a lawful basis (consent or legitimate interest) before uploading candidate CVs
• Inform candidates that AI is used in your screening process
• Comply with employment discrimination laws in your jurisdiction
• Not use Sieve to assess candidates based on protected characteristics
• Maintain appropriate access controls for your team members and guests
• Not attempt to reverse engineer or extract the AI models

5. Data ownership

You retain all rights to the CV content and candidate data you upload. You grant Sieve a limited licence to process that data solely to deliver the service. Sieve does not train AI models on your data, and our AI subprocessor (Anthropic) does not train on customer data.

6. AI output

AI-generated scores, summaries, and interview questions may contain errors, bias, or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before acting on them. Sieve provides no warranty that AI outputs are accurate, fair, or complete.

7. Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial periods.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Sieve to:

• Screen candidates based on race, gender, religion, age, disability, or other protected characteristics
• Upload CVs without the candidate's knowledge or a legal basis
• Send unsolicited bulk email through the platform
• Attempt unauthorised access to other accounts or to Sieve infrastructure
• Resell or sublicense the service without written permission

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, fail to pay, or that show signs of abuse. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page.

10. Warranties and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sieve's total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email to account owners at least 14 days in advance.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ireland, without prejudice to your mandatory consumer rights.
